Traction where it counts
The SUVs on this page are all-wheel drive: steady traction on packed snow, icy junctions and the unploughed last kilometre to a lodge.
Ground clearance
Snow banks, fell roads and forest tracks are part of a Lapland winter. An SUV sits higher and takes them in its stride.
Winter tyres and equipment
Each car is prepared for the season: premium winter tyres and full arctic equipment in winter, summer tyres once the snow is gone. Heated front seats take the edge off a cold morning.
Room for luggage and skis
Space for winter luggage, ski bags and the whole party's kit; the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Volvo XC90 seat up to seven.
03 · Before You Book
What You Need, and Where We Deliver
What you need to rent
- Main driver at least 21 years old with at least one year of driving experience, checked from the issue date of the licence
- A valid driving licence and, on request, a passport or identity card; an International Driving Permit alongside the original if the licence is not in English or the Latin alphabet
- A security deposit of €500 as a hold on a payment card, credit or debit, in the main driver’s name, placed at handover and released after the rental; nothing is charged in advance
- Damage protection with a €0 damage excess is included in every self-drive rental
- An additional driver must meet the same requirements and is approved at handover
Delivery and collection
- Handover in person at Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Ivalo or Kuusamo Airport, at your hotel or at your villa, in Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä or Ruka-Kuusamo
- Delivery and collection are free within 30 kilometres of Rovaniemi
- The fee for Levi/Kittilä, Ruka/Kuusamo and Ivalo/Saariselkä is included when you select that location at booking
- Any other address in Lapland is quoted on request
- The car is returned at the agreed time to the agreed place
